How Do I Change the Owner of a Wix Site?

There are a few reasons you may want to change the owner of your Wix site. Maybe you created the site for a client and now they want to take over, or maybe you’re just ready to hand it off to someone else. Whatever the reason, changing the owner of a Wix site is easy to do.

To change the owner of your Wix site, first log in to your account. Then, go to the My Sites page and click on the site you want to transfer. Once you’re on the editor page for that site, click on Settings in the left-hand menu.

On the Settings page, scroll down until you see the Ownership section.

Here, you’ll see the current owner of the site as well as a button that says Change Owner. Click that button.

A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm that you want to change the owner of the site. Click OK.

On the next page, you’ll be prompted to enter the email address of the new owner. Enter their email address and then click Send Invite.

The new owner will then receive an email with instructions on how to accept ownership of the site.

PRO TIP: If you are not the current owner of a Wix site, you will not be able to change the owner of the site. Only the current owner of a Wix site can change the owner of the site.
