How do I check my current Azure CLI subscription?

Azure CLI provides a number of commands to manage your subscription and environment.

To list your current subscription, run the Azure account list command.

To get a list of all available commands, run the Azure list command.

To get help for a specific command, run the Azure help command with the command name as a parameter. For example, to get help for the Azure account list command, run the Azure help account list command.

To get a list of all your resources, including Azure subscriptions, run the Azure list command with the resource type as a parameter. For example, to get a list of all your Azure subscriptions, run the Azure list subscription command.

To get information about a specific subscription, run the Azure account get command with the subscription id as a parameter. For example, to get information about the my_subscription_id subscription, run the Azure account get my_subscription_id command.

To get information about a resource, run the Azure list resource command with the resource type as a parameter. For example, to get information about the my_resource_type resource, run the Azure list resource my_resource_type command.

To delete a resource, run the Azure list resource command with the resource type as a parameter, and then specify the resource name as the parameter. For example, to delete the my_resource_type resource, run the Azure list resource my_resource_type –delete.

To get information about an Azure subscription, run the Azure account get command with the subscription id as a parameter.

PRO TIP: If you are trying to check your current Azure CLI subscription, be aware that the process is slightly different depending on whether you are using the Azure Cloud Shell or the Azure CLI installed on your local machine. To check your subscription in the Azure Cloud Shell, use the ‘az account show’ command. If you are using the Azure CLI installed on your local machine, use the ‘az account list’ command.

To get information about a virtual network, run the Azure list virtual network command with the virtual network name as a parameter. For example, to get information about the my_virtual_network_name virtual network, run the Azure list virtual network my_virtual_network_name command.

To get information about an instance, run the Azure list instance command with the instance name as a parameter. For example, to get information about the my_instance_name instance, run the Azure list instance my_instance_name command.

To get information about a deployment, run the Azure list deployment command with the deployment name as a parameter. For example, to get information about the my_deployment_name deployment, run the Azure list deployment my_deployment_name command.

To get information about a resource group, run the Azure list resource group command with the resource group name as a parameter. For example, to get information about the my_resource_group_name resource group, run the Azure list resource group my_resource_group_name command.

To get information about a subnet, run the Azure list subnet command with the subnet name as a parameter. For example, to get information about the my_subnet_name subnet, run the Azure list subnet my_subnet_name command.

To get information about a virtual network gateway, run the Azure list virtual network gateway command with the virtual network gateway name as a parameter. For example, to get information about the my_virtual_network_gateway virtual network gateway, run the Azure list virtual network gateway my_virtual_network_gateway command.

To get information about a resource group gateway, run the Azure list resource group gateway command with the resource group gateway name as a parameter. For example, to get information about the my_resource_group_gateway resource group gateway, run the Azure list resource group gateway my_resource_group_gateway command.

To get information about an application, run the Azure list application command with the application name as a parameter. For example, to get information about the my_applications_name application, run the Azure list application my_applications_name command.

To get information about a resource group, virtual network, or subscription, run the Azure list resource group, virtual network, or subscription command with the name of the resource group, virtual network, or subscription as a parameter.

To get information about a deployment or application, run the Azure list deployment or application command with the deployment or application name as a parameter. For example, to get information about the my_deployment_name deployment or the my_application_name application, run the Azure list deployment or application my_deployment.
