How Do I Create a Vector Brush in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 10:53 pm

There are a few things you need to know in order to create a vector brush in Photoshop. First, you need to make sure that you have the right version of Photoshop.

You’ll need Photoshop CS6 or higher in order to create a vector brush. If you don’t have the right version of Photoshop, you can upgrade your software by visiting the Adobe website.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Photoshop, or if you are not comfortable using Photoshop’s advanced features, you should not attempt to create a vector brush in Photoshop. Vector brushes can be complex and difficult to create, and if you do not know what you are doing, you could end up damaging your image or creating artifacts that will be difficult to remove.

Once you have the right version of Photoshop, open up a new document and select the “Brush” tool from the toolbar. Then, click on the “Brush Settings” menu and select “New Brush.” A new window will pop up where you can name your brush and select its settings.

For the “Brush Tip Shape” settings, choose “Round” for the shape and set the “Size” to 10 px. Then, for the “Angle” setting, enter in 45 degrees.

Next, set the “Spacing” to 25% and check the “Scattering” box. Finally, set the “Color Dynamics” to “Hue Jitter.”

Now that you’ve selected all of your brush settings, click “OK” to close the window. You should now see your new vector brush appear in the brushes palette. To use your new brush, simply select it from the palette and start painting!
