Assuming you have a Squarespace account (if not, sign up for one here), log in and go to the Home Menu. From there, hover over the Design tab and select “Customize.”

On the left side of the Customize panel, you’ll see a menu of options. The first section is Style Editor, which lets you change the overall look of your site.

To get started, choose a pre-designed template from the “Templates” drop-down menu. You can always change your template later, so don’t worry if you’re not sure which one to pick.

Once you’ve selected a template, take a look at the options in the Style Editor. You can experiment with different color schemes, fonts, and other design elements to find something that fits your style. When you’re happy with your changes, click “Save & Exit” at the top of the page.

The next section in the left menu is Pages. This is where you’ll add and edit the individual pages on your site.

To add a new page, click the “+” icon and select the type of page you want to create. You can also reorder your pages by clicking and dragging them into place.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with HTML and CSS, we recommend that you avoid trying to customize your website on Squarespace. While Squarespace does offer some customization options without coding, making more significant changes to your website will require knowledge of HTML and CSS. If you are not comfortable working with code, you may want to consider hiring a Squarespace Expert to help you with customization.

When you’re editing a page, you’ll see options for adding content in the right sidebar. Depending on the type of page you’re working on, you might see different content blocks that you can add. For example, if you’re editing a blog post, you can add an image or video, or format your text using headings and lists.

You can also use the right sidebar to change the layout of your page. For example, if you’re editing a blog post, you can choose how many columns you want your text to be in. To change your layout, click the “Layout” button in the right sidebar and experiment with different options until you find something that looks good.

The last section in the left menu is Settings. Here, you can change things like your site title and social media links. You can also add code snippets if you want to customize your site even further.

Conclusion:

Squarespace makes it easy to customize your website to match your unique style. With just a few clicks in the Customize panel, you can change your site’s colors, fonts, layout, and more.
