How Do I Export a Prototype in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 10:30 pm

Creating a prototype is an important part of the design process. It allows you to test your ideas and make sure they work before you move on to the next stage. Figma is a great tool for creating prototypes, and it’s easy to export them so you can share them with others.

There are two ways to export a prototype in Figma: as an image or as a PDF. To export as an image, select the prototype from the left-hand panel and click the “Export” button in the top-right corner of the screen.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to export a prototype from Figma, be aware that there are some potential risks involved. Exporting a prototype means that you are effectively giving away the source code for your design, which could be used by others to create copies of your work. Additionally, if you are not careful when exporting your prototype, it is possible to accidentally include sensitive information in the file (such as passwords or usernames).

This will open the Export dialog, where you can choose the file format (PNG, JPG, or SVG) and resolution. To export as a PDF, select “PDF” from the Format drop-down menu.

Once you’ve exported your prototype, you can share it with others by sending them the file or linking to it online. If you’re sharing a link, make sure to set the appropriate privacy settings so that only people who have the link can view it.

Exporting a prototype in Figma is a quick and easy way to share your work with others. By exporting as an image or PDF, you can make sure that your prototype looks just the way you want it to before sharing it with anyone.
