How Do I Find a Component in Figma?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 10:22 am

When building a user interface in Figma, you’ll often need to find and use specific components from a library. In this article, we’ll show you how to do just that.

First, open the library that contains the component you’re looking for. You can do this by clicking on the “Libraries” tab in the left sidebar, or by searching for it in the search bar at the top of the screen.

Once you’ve found the correct library, locate the component you need within it. You can use the search bar at the top of the library to find it by name, or you can browse through the library until you find it visually.

PRO TIP: If you are working in Figma and need to find a particular component, be sure to first check the Layers panel. If the component is not there, it may be on a different layer or hidden from view. To find hidden components, click the “Show Hidden Objects” icon in the top bar.

Once you’ve found the component you need, simply click on it to select it. Then, click on the “Insert” button in the top toolbar to add it to your project.

That’s all there is to it! With this method, you can easily find and insert any component from any Figma library.
