How Do I Import a Vector Into Figma?

There are three ways to import vector files into Figma:

  1. Upload the file
  2. Drag and drop the file
  3. Copy and paste the file

To upload the file:

  • Click on the “Upload” icon in the left sidebar.
  • Click on the “Select a file from your computer” button.
  • Select the file you want to upload and click on the “Open” button.

To drag and drop the file:

PRO TIP: When importing a vector into Figma, be sure to use the correct file format. Vectors can be imported as .svg, .ai, or .pdf files. If you are not sure which file format to use, consult the Figma documentation or ask a Figma support representative.

    Drag the file from its location on your computer into Figma or If you have multiple files to upload, you can also drag them all into Figma at once.

    Note: You can only drag and drop files from your computer. It is not possible to drag and drop files from online sources such as Google Drive or Dropbox.

    To copy and paste the file:

    Copy: Select the vector file on your computer. Right-click on it and select “Copy” from the menu, or use keyboard shortcut “Ctrl/Cmd+C” or if you have multiple files to copy, you can also copy them all at once.

    Paste: Open Figma and select any frame. Right-click inside the frame and select “Paste” from the menu, or use keyboard shortcut “Ctrl/Cmd+V”. The vector file(s) will be added to the frame.
