How Do I Import Custom Fonts Into Figma?

There are two ways that you can import custom fonts into Figma. The first is to use the native font import feature, and the second is to use a plugin.

To use the native font import feature, simply click on the “Text” tool in the toolbar, and then click on the “Add Font” button in the top-right corner of the interface. This will open up a dialog box where you can select the custom font that you want to use.

PRO TIP: When importing custom fonts into Figma, it is important to note that there are some risks involved. While most fonts will work fine, some fonts can cause problems with the software or even crash the program. If you are unsure about a font, it is best to test it out on a separate file before importing it into your main project.

To use a plugin, first install the “Font Importer” plugin from the Figma Plugin Store. Once installed, you can access the plugin by clicking on the “Text” tool in the toolbar, and then clicking on the “Import Font” button in the top-right corner of the interface.

Both of these methods will allow you to use custom fonts in your Figma designs. However, if you want more control over how your text looks, we recommend using the “Font Importer” plugin. This plugin gives you more options for how your text will be rendered, including kerning and tracking options.
