How Do I Import Google Fonts Into Figma?

There are two ways that you can import Google Fonts into Figma. The first way is to use the Google Fonts website, and the second way is to download the fonts from the Google Fonts repository on GitHub.

To use the first method, go to the Google Fonts website. Find the font that you want to use, and click the “+” button to add it to your collection. Once you’ve added all of the fonts that you want to use, click the “Download” button at the bottom of the page.

PRO TIP: The following note is a warning against importing Google Fonts into Figma.

Please be aware that importing Google Fonts into Figma can result in decreased performance and unexpected issues. We recommend only importing fonts that you absolutely need, and avoiding importing too many fonts at once. Thank you for your understanding.

You will then be given a .zip file containing all of the fonts that you selected. Extract this .zip file, and then open Figma.

Go to File > Import > Import Resources, and select all of the fonts that you extracted. Figma will now be able to use these fonts in your designs.

The second method is to download the fonts from the Google Fonts repository on GitHub. Find the font that you want to use, and click on the “Download” button.

You will be given a .zip file containing all of the font files.zip file, and then follow the same steps as above to import these fonts into Figma.

Conclusion

You can import Google Fonts into Figma using either the Google Fonts website or by downloading them from GitHub. Once you have imported the fonts into Figma, you can use them in your designs by selecting them from the Font drop-down menu.
