How Do I Link My Domain to Shopify?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 1:49 pm

Assuming you have a domain name already registered with a domain name registrar, there are only a few steps you need to follow to link it with your Shopify store. If you don’t have a domain name registered yet, you can purchase one from Shopify or your preferred domain name registrar.

1. Log in to your Shopify admin panel and go to Online Store > Domains. 2. Under Add a domain, enter the domain name you want to use in the Domain field and click Add domain. Shopify will automatically configure the DNS settings for your new domain. 3.

If your domain is registered with a different provider, you need to update its DNS settings to point to Shopify. This process is different for each registrar, but you can typically find instructions by doing a quick Google search for “update DNS settings for [registrar name].” 4. Once your DNS settings have been updated, go back to the Domains page in your Shopify admin and click Verify connection. 5. That’s it! Your domain should now be successfully linked to your Shopify store.

PRO TIP: If you are linking your domain to Shopify, be aware that you may experience some downtime while your DNS settings propagate. This means that your website may not be accessible during this time.

If you run into any trouble along the way, Shopify’s support team is always happy to help out.
