If you have a logo, watermark, or any other image that you want to use on your website or blog, but don’t want the background to show, you can make it transparent in Photoshop. This tutorial will show you how to make the background of an image transparent in Photoshop so that you can use it on your website or blog.

To make the background of an image transparent in Photoshop, you need to use the “Alpha Channel” option. The Alpha Channel is an 8-bit channel that is used to store transparency information for an image. When you save an image as a PNG file, the Alpha Channel is automatically included.

First, open your image in Photoshop. Then, go to the “Channels” palette and click on the “Create new channel” icon. A new channel will be created called “Alpha 1”.

PRO TIP: When making a background transparent in Photoshop, it is important to first select the image area that you want to keep and delete the rest. If you do not do this, you may end up with an unwanted background.

Next, use the Brush Tool to paint over the areas of the image that you want to be transparent. Make sure that the foreground color is set to black and the background color is set to white. Once you have painted over the areas that you want to be transparent, go to “Select” > “Inverse” to inverse the selection.

Now, go back to the “Channels” palette and click on the “Load channel as selection” icon. This will load the transparency information from the Alpha Channel into a selection.

Finally, go to “Layer” > “New Layer” and click “OK”. This will create a new layer with a transparent background. You can now add this layer to your website or blog.
