How Do I Open an Inspect in Figma?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 10:49 am

If you’re a Figma user, you’re probably familiar with the Inspect feature. If not, Inspect is a powerful tool that lets you inspect the design elements in your file, and even compare them to other design files.

Inspect is particularly useful for designers who want to see how their designs compare to other designers, or to find out how a particular design element was created.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Figma, do not attempt to open an Inspect. Doing so could result in data loss or corruption. Only experienced users should attempt to open an Inspect in Figma.

So, how do you open an Inspect in Figma? It’s actually quite simple. Just select the element you want to inspect, and then click the Inspect button in the toolbar at the top of the screen.

You can also use the shortcut key Cmd + Shift + I (Mac) or Ctrl + Shift + I (Windows) to open an Inspect. Once you have an Inspect open, you can use the mouse or keyboard shortcuts to navigate around the file and inspect different elements.

To sum up, opening an Inspect in Figma is quite easy – simply select an element and click the ‘Inspect’ button in the toolbar, or use the shortcut key Cmd + Shift + I (Mac) or Ctrl + Shift + I (Windows).
