How Do You Preview a Figma?

Last updated on November 25, 2022 @ 5:55 pm

In Figma, you can set up a preview of your work-in-progress design to get feedback from collaborators or stakeholders. To do this, you’ll need to create a link to your file. Once you’ve done this, anyone with the link will be able to view your design in their browser.

There are two ways to preview a Figma design:

1. Share a link to your file
2. Export your design as an HTML file

Sharing a link is the easiest way to get started with previews. To do this, simply click the “Share” button in the top-right corner of Figma and copy the link that is generated. You can then paste this link into an email, chat, or any other platform where you’re communicating with others.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Figma, previewing a Figma may not be as straightforward as you think. Make sure to read the instructions carefully before previewing a Figma, or you may end up with an unexpected result.

Exporting your design as an HTML file is a bit more involved, but it gives you more control over how your design is presented. To do this, go to the “File” menu and select “Export”.

From here, you can choose to export your entire file or just a specific frame. If you choose to export a frame, make sure that it is selected in the left sidebar before exporting.

After you’ve exported your file, open it in a text editor and add the following code to the top of the file:

/* style preview content */ /* include Figma Embed JS */ /* add figma id & url */ Save your changes and open the HTML file in your browser. You should see your Figma design embedded on the page.

Conclusion – How Do You Preview a Figma?
You can share a link or export as an HTML file to preview a Figma design in progress and get feedback from others. Exporting as an HTML file gives you more control over how the design is presented but sharing a link is simpler and easier to get started with.
