HostGator offers easy and affordable website hosting that is reliable and secure. To point your domain to HostGator, you will need to follow these steps:

First, find the IP address of your HostGator server. To do this, open a web browser and type the following into the address bar:

https://IPaddress

For example, if your HostGator server’s IP address is 192.168.1.100, you would type https://192.

168.100 in your web browser.

Next, open the HostGator control panel and click on the Domains tab.

PRO TIP: If you are pointing your domain to HostGator, be aware that HostGator will automatically set your domain’s DNS A record and www CNAME record to point to their servers. This can cause problems if you are already using another DNS service for your domain. Make sure to check your DNS records before and after pointing your domain to HostGator to ensure that the records have been updated correctly.

On the Domains tab, click on the Add a Domain button.

Enter the domain name you would like to host on HostGator, and click on the Add Domain button.

Next, enter the IP address of your HostGator server in the Host field, and click on the Add Domain button.

Your domain will now be pointed to your HostGator server.

Finally, make sure that the DNS settings for your domain are set to point to the IP address of your HostGator server. To do this, open the DNS settings for your domain, and enter the IP address of your HostGator server in the DNS Server field.
