How Do I Run a Plugin in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 10:34 pm

There are a few different ways that you can run a plugin in Figma. The most common way is to use the “run” command in your terminal. This will look something like this:

figma-run <plugin-id>

Where <plugin-id> is the id of the plugin you want to run. You can find this by looking at the URL of the plugin page on the Figma website.

It will be the string of characters after “plugins/”. For example, if the URL is https://www.figma.com/c/plugin/735451579461484011/Text, then the plugin id is “735451579461484011”.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that running a plugin in Figma can be risky and may result in data loss or damage to your computer. Proceed with caution and only run plugins from trusted sources.

Another way to run a plugin is to use the “open” command in your terminal. This will open up the Figma web app and load the plugin automatically. The syntax for this is:

figma open <plugin-id>

As before, you will need to substitute in the id of the plugin you want to run.

Conclusion:

You can run a plugin in Figma by using either the “run” or “open” command in your terminal, followed by the id of the plugin you want to run.
