How Do I Save a Figma Prototype as a PDF?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 8:28 pm

Figma is a vector graphics editor and prototyping tool – think Adobe Illustrator, but with some extra features designed for user interface design, web design, and icon design. One of Figma’s coolest features is its ability to export prototypes as PDFs.

To save a Figma prototype as a PDF, first select the prototype from the left-hand panel. Then, click the “Share” button in the top-right corner of the screen.

A pop-up window will appear; in this window, select “Download PDF. ”

PRO TIP: If you are planning to save a Figma prototype as a PDF, be aware that there are some potential issues that could arise. First, if the prototype is complex, it may not translate well into PDF format. Second, depending on how the prototype is saved, some interactivity may be lost in the process. Finally, keep in mind that PDFs can be large files, so be sure to have enough storage space available before exporting.

That’s it! Your prototype will now download as a PDF. You can open this PDF in any PDF viewer, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when exporting prototypes as PDFs:

  • The resolution of your PDF will be based on the resolution of your screen. If you’re using a high-resolution screen (such as a 4K monitor), your PDF will be high resolution as well. Conversely, if you’re using a lower-resolution screen, your PDF will be lower resolution.
  • You can only export one page of your prototype at a time. If you want to export multiple pages of your prototype, you’ll need to do so one page at a time.

And that’s all there is to it! Now you know how to export Figma prototypes as PDFs.
