How Do I Set Up Automatic Free Shipping on Shopify?

Last updated on January 8, 2023 @ 7:57 am

Assuming you have a Shopify account (if not, create one here), setting up automatic free shipping is a relatively simple process:

From your Shopify admin panel, go to Settings > Shipping.

In the Shipping zones and rates section, click Add shipping zone.

Enter a name for your shipping zone in the Zone name field. For example, “United States”.

In the Countries section, select the countries that you want to include in this shipping zone. For example, if you’re creating a shipping zone for the United States, you would select United States from the list of countries. You can also add entire regions, such as North America or Europe.

When you’re done adding countries, click Add rate.

In the Rate name field, enter a name for the shipping rate. For example, “Free shipping”.

PRO TIP: If you are thinking about setting up automatic free shipping on Shopify, there are a few things you should know. First, free shipping is a great way to encourage customers to purchase from your store. However, it is important to make sure that your shipping rates are accurate, as customers may be unhappy if they are unexpectedly charged for shipping. Additionally, you should be aware that some products may not be eligible for free shipping, so it is important to check with the product’s manufacturer or supplier before setting up automatic free shipping.

Under Conditions, select “Price” from the first drop-down menu, “is greater than or equal to” from the second drop-down menu, and 0 from the third drop-down menu. This will ensure that the free shipping rate is applied to all orders.

Under Action, select “Free shipping”. This will ensure that the shipping rate is set to $0.00 for all orders.

When you’re done, click Save changes.
