How Do I Transfer a Project on Figma?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 11:08 am

There are a few ways that you can go about transferring a project on Figma. The first way is to simply export the project as a .fig file and then import it into your new account. To do this, go to File > Export > Export as .fig (this option is only available if you have the paid version of Figma).

The second way is to use the “Share” feature in Figma. To do this, go to File > Share > Copy Link.

This will give you a link that you can share with anyone, including yourself. Once you have the link, go to your new account and click on the “Open” button in the top left corner. Paste the link into the box that pops up and click “Open”.

PRO TIP: If you are working on a project in Figma and need to transfer it to another user, be sure to do the following:

1. Make sure you have permission from the project owner to transfer the project.

2. Export all of the project files from Figma.

3. Import the project files into the new account.

4. Make sure all team members have access to the new account.

The third way is to use the “Publish” feature in Figma. This is similar to the “Share” feature, but with Publish you can also choose to make your project public so that anyone can view it (even if they don’t have a Figma account).

To do this, go to File > Publish > Publish to the Web. You will be given a link that you can share with anyone.
