How Do I Turn on Grid in Figma?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 12:14 am

Grid is an important tool for web design and Figma makes it easy to use. There are two ways to turn on grid in Figma.

The first is to simply click on the “View” menu and select “Grid.” The second way is to press the “G” key on your keyboard. Either method will display a series of vertical and horizontal lines across your canvas, making it easy to line up your elements.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Figma, we recommend that you do not attempt to turn on the grid feature. This could result in changes to your design that you are not expecting.

Once grid is enabled, you can adjust the spacing between the lines by clicking on the “View” menu and selecting “Grid Settings.” Here you can enter a custom value for the gutter width, or choose from a few preset options. You can also adjust the opacity of the lines, which can be helpful if you find them too distracting.

Enabling grid is a quick and easy way to make sure your elements are properly aligned. It’s a helpful tool for both web designers and those who are just getting started with Figma.
