When you first open Photoshop, you’ll see the main screen that has the various menu options along the top. Under the File menu, there is an option called New.

This is where you can create a new image. The next thing you need to do is open an image. You can do this by going to the File menu and selecting Open.

Once you have an image open, you’ll notice that there are various tools along the left side of the screen. The one we’re interested in for this lesson is called the Hand Tool. You can select it by clicking on it or by pressing the letter H on your keyboard.

The Hand Tool is used for moving around your image. If your image is larger than the Photoshop window, you can use the Hand Tool to scroll around and see different parts of it. To do this, simply click and drag with the Hand Tool.

If your image is zoomed in, you can also use the Hand Tool to move around within the image. This can be handy if you want to reposition something or get a better look at something. To do this, hold down the spacebar on your keyboard and then click and drag with the Hand Tool.

When you’re done using the Hand Tool, you can deselect it by clicking on another tool or by pressing the letter

H on your keyboard again.

The hand tool in Photoshop is a very versatile tool that allows users to scroll around their image, as well as move around within their image when zoomed in. It’s a handy tool to know how to use!

PRO TIP: The Hand Tool in Photoshop can be used to move an image around the screen. However, if you are not careful, you can accidentally move the image off the screen.
