How Do You Align Elements in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 10:39 pm

There are a few different ways that you can align elements in Figma. The most common way is to use the alignment tools in the left toolbar.

You can also use the align options in the right click menu.

To align elements using the toolbar, select the elements you want to align and then click on one of the alignment options. For example, if you want to align elements to the left, click on the ‘Left’ option.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that Figma is a design tool and not a coding tool. You cannot ‘align’ elements in Figma in the same way as you would in a coding tool such as HTML or CSS. If you try to ‘align’ elements in Figma, you will likely end up with an incorrect design.

You can also use the align options in the right click menu. To do this, select the elements you want to align and right click on one of them.

From the menu that appears, select ‘Align’ and then choose an option from the submenu.

Finally, you can also use keyboard shortcuts to align elements. For example, you can use the ‘Ctrl+Shift+L’ shortcut to align elements to the left.

For a full list of keyboard shortcuts, check out the Figma documentation.
