How Do You Link Components in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 10:45 pm

When it comes to designing a user interface, one of the most important things to consider is how you will link the various components together. In Figma, there are two ways to do this:

1. By creating a frame

When you create a frame in Figma, it automatically becomes the container for all the other elements you add inside it. This means that any time you move or resize the frame, all the other elements inside it will move or resize with it. To create a frame, simply click on the “Create Frame” button in the toolbar, or use the shortcut “F”.

2. By using groups

If you want more control over how your elements are positioned relative to each other, you can use groups instead of frames. To create a group, select all the elements you want to group together and click on the “Group” button in the toolbar, or use the shortcut “G”.

You can also nest groups inside other groups, which can be useful for organizing complex designs.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, when linking components in Figma there are two main methods which are by creating a frame or by using groups. Groups give you more control over positioning however both methods are useful in different ways depending on the design.
