How Do You Create a Link in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 10:42 pm

There are many ways to create a link in Figma. The most common method is to use the “Create Link” button in the toolbar. This will create a link between the selected object and another object or frame in your design.

You can also create a link by selecting an object, then choosing “Edit > Create Link.” This will open the “Create Link” dialog, where you can choose the Target object or frame for your link.

PRO TIP: When creating a link in Figma, be sure to use the correct URL format. If you use an incorrect URL format, the link will not work and you will not be able to access the linked file.

Another way to create a link is to select an object, then press “Cmd/Ctrl+K.” This will open the “Create Link” dialog with the selected object pre-populated as the source of the link.

Once you have created a link, you can edit it by selecting the linked object and choosing “Edit > Edit Link.” This will open the “Edit Link” dialog, where you can change the source and Target objects for your link.

You can also delete a link by selecting the linked object and choosing “Edit > Delete Link.”
