How Do You Embed a GIF in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 9:45 pm

There are a few different ways that you can embed a GIF in Figma. One way is to simply drag and drop the GIF file into the Figma interface.

Another way is to use the “Insert” menu and select “Image.” This will open up your file explorer, from which you can select the GIF file that you want to insert.

PRO TIP: This article is about how to embed a GIF in Figma. It is not about how to create a GIF. If you are not familiar with Figma, please read the Figma documentation first. GIFs can be embedded in Figma using the Images tool. To embed a GIF in Figma:

1. Select the Images tool from the toolbar.

2. Click on the GIF that you would like to embed.

3. Copy the URL of the GIF.

4. Paste the URL into the Image URL field in the Images tool.

5. Click on the Embed button.

Once the GIF is inserted, you can then use the various tools in Figma to style it. For example, you can use the “Layer” menu to change the opacity of the GIF, or the “Text” tool to add captions.

Finally, if you want to share your Figma design with others, you can export it as an HTML file. To do this, go to the “File” menu and select “Export.”

Then, choose “HTML” from the list of options. This will generate an HTML file that you can then share with others.
