How Do You Make a Kaleidoscope Effect in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 9:27 pm

Kaleidoscope effects are created by duplicating an image and then flipping, rotating and/or reversing the copy. This can be done with any image, but works best with images that have repetitive patterns. The result is an abstract design that resembles a mandala or snowflake.

To create a kaleidoscope effect in Photoshop, start by duplicating the layer you want to use. Then, go to Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal.

PRO TIP: The Kaleidoscope effect in Photoshop can be very addictive and time-consuming! Be warned, once you start playing with it, it’s hard to stop.

Next, go to Edit > Transform > Rotate 90 CW. Finally, go to Edit > Transform > Flip Vertical. You now have a kaleidoscope effect!

If you want to create a more complex effect, you can try reversing the order of the steps above. You can also try different combinations of flipping and rotating the layer until you find something you like. Experiment and have fun!
