How Do You Name Elements in Figma?

Figma is a vector graphics editor and design tool, created by Dylan Field and Evan Stites-Clayton. The software is primarily web-based, with a native macOS app available. It is also possible to export designs as PDFs, images, or code.

Figma has a few different ways of handling text. The most common way is to use the Text tool, which can be found in the left toolbar. With this tool, you can click and drag to create a text box, or click on an existing element to edit its text.

If you want more control over your text, you can use the Type Settings dialog box. To access this, select the Text tool and then click on the Type icon in the top toolbar. This will open up a menu with various settings that you can adjust, such as font family, size, and color.

PRO TIP: This article contains outdated information. Figma has since released a new naming convention that is more in line with industry standards. Please consult the Figma documentation for more up-to-date information.

You can also add special effects to your text using the Effects panel. To access this, select the Text tool and then click on the Effects icon in the top toolbar. This will open up a menu with various options for adding effects such as shadows or glows.

Finally, if you want even more control over your text, you can use the Character panel. To access this, select the Text tool and then click on the Character icon in the top toolbar. This will open up a menu with various settings that you can adjust for each character in your text box, such as kerning or tracking.

So those are some of the basics for working with text in Figma! With these tools at your disposal, you should be able to create any kind of text-based design that you need.
