There are a few different ways that you can rename a component in Figma. The first way is to simply click on the component in the Layers panel and then type in the new name for the component in the text field that appears. You can also double-click on the component in the Layers panel and then type in the new name for the component.

The second way to rename a component is to select the component in the Layers panel and then click on the Rename button in the toolbar at the top of the screen. This will open up a dialog box where you can type in the new name for the component.

The third way to rename a component is to right-click on the component in the Layers panel and then select Rename from the menu that appears. This will also open up a dialog box where you can type in the new name for the component.

PRO TIP: If you are working on a design in Figma and need to rename a component, be sure to select the component in the Layers panel first. If you don’t, the name change won’t be applied to the component instance in your design.
