How Do You Overlay Images in Photoshop?

There are a few different ways to overlay images in Photoshop, depending on the effect you’re going for.

If you want to create a simple, two-toned image, you can use the ‘Gradient Overlay’ layer style. First, open your image in Photoshop. Then, create a new layer and drag it underneath your image layer.

Next, go to ‘Layer > Layer Style > Gradient Overlay.’ A gradient overlay dialogue box will appear. Choose the colors you want to use for your gradient, and then adjust the other settings to get the look you want.

If you want to create a more complex image overlay, you can use multiple layers and layer masks. Then, create a new layer and drag it over your image layer. Next, go to ‘Layer > Layer Mask > Reveal All.’

PRO TIP: When overlaying images in Photoshop, it is important to make sure that the images are properly aligned. If the images are not properly aligned, the results can be disastrous.

A white rectangle will appear over your image. Using a black brush, paint over the areas of the image that you want to be visible. The black areas will be visible and the white areas will be hidden. You can add multiple layers with different images and mask them together to create a more complex effect.

You can also use blending modes to overlay images. Blending modes allow you to change how two layers interact with each other.

To change the blending mode of a layer, go to ‘Layer > Blending Mode.’ A list of options will appear. Experiment with different options to see what effect they have on your image.

Overlaying images is a great way to create interesting effects in Photoshop. By using different techniques, you can create simple or complex effects that add interest to your images.
