How Do You Pick a Color in Figma?

Last updated on November 26, 2022 @ 1:51 pm

There are a few ways to pick a color in Figma. You can either use the color picker tool, or you can use the color palette.

If you want to use the color picker tool, you can either click on the color swatch in the toolbar, or you can use the shortcut key (C).

To use the color palette, first select the object you want to color. Then, click on the “Fill” property in the toolbar.

This will open up the color palette. From here, you can either click on a color swatch, or you can use the eyedropper tool to select a color from anywhere on your canvas.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful when choosing a color in Figma, you may end up with a color that is too light or too dark for your design. Be sure to test the color in Figma before committing to it.

Once you’ve selected a color, you can then adjust the opacity by clicking on the “Opacity” property in the toolbar. You can also add a gradient by clicking on the “Gradient” property.

To add a new color stop, simply click on the desired location on the gradient slider. You can then select a color for that stop using the same methods as before.
