How Do You Use Prototype in Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 8:35 pm

Prototype is one of the best features in Figma. It allows you to link your design together to create an interactive user flow. You can use it to test out your designs and see how users would interact with your product.

To use prototype, first select the frame that you want to start with. Then, click on the “Prototype” tab in the top bar.

Here, you can select how you want to link your frames together. You can choose from a variety of transitions, such as “Fade”, “Slide”, or “None”.

PRO TIP: This article is outdated and no longer reflects Figma’s current functionality.

Once you’ve selected your transition, click on the first frame that you want to link. Then, click on the second frame that you want to link to. A line will appear between the two frames, indicating that they are now linked.

You can continue linking your frames together until you have created your desired user flow. To test out your prototype, click on the “Play” button in the top bar. This will launch your prototype in a new window, where you can interact with it just like a real user.

Prototype is an incredibly powerful tool that can help you design better products. By testing out your designs before they’re built, you can catch errors and make improvements early on. So don’t be afraid to experiment with Prototype and see what you can create!
