Who Can Comment on Figma Files?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 1:28 am

There are a few different ways to add comments to a Figma file. The most common way is to use the comment tool, which can be found in the toolbar on the left hand side of the screen. To add a comment, simply click on the comment tool and then click on the area of the design you want to comment on.

You can also add comments by selecting an object and then clicking the “Add Comment” button in the Inspector panel.

PRO TIP: If you are working on a sensitive project, be aware that anyone with the link to your Figma file can add comments. This includes people who are not part of your team or organization. To help protect your work, we recommend only sharing links to Figma files with people who need to view or comment on them.

Finally, you can add comments by right-clicking on an object and selecting “Add Comment” from the context menu.

Comments can be added by anyone who has access to a Figma file, regardless of whether they are a collaborator or not. However, only collaborators can see comments that have been left on a file. If you’re working on a public file, anyone with the link will be able to see any comments that have been left on it.

So, in short, anyone can add comments to a Figma file, but only collaborators will be able to see them.
