Why Is Canva Background Remover Not Working?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 12:14 am

There are a few possible reasons why the Canva Background Remover might not be working correctly. First, make sure that the image you’re trying to remove the background from is in .PNG format.

Canva can only remove backgrounds from .PNG files. If your image is in another format, such as .JPG, you’ll need to convert it to .PNG first.

PRO TIP: If you are experiencing issues with Canva’s background remover tool, there are a few things you can do to try and fix the problem. First, make sure that you are using a supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). If you are using an unsupported browser, the background remover may not work properly. Second, make sure that your image is in .png format and that it is not too large (larger images may take longer to process). Finally, try reloading the page and/or restarting your browser. If the issue persists, please contact Canva support for further assistance.

Another possibility is that the background of your image is too similar in color to the foreground. The Background Remover tool relies on color differences to identify the background of an image. If the colors are too similar, the tool won’t be able to properly identify the background.

Finally, make sure that you’ve selected the entire image. The Background Remover tool will only work if the entire image is selected. If only part of the image is selected, the tool will try to remove the background from that part only.

If you’ve checked all of these things and the Background Remover still isn’t working properly, feel free to contact Canva support for help.
