Can You Add Custom Fonts to Figma?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 8:20 pm

Figma is a vector graphics editor and design tool, created by Dylan Field and Evan Wallace. Figma is used for interface design, icon design, and prototyping.

Figma has a growing library of built-in fonts, however you may want to use a custom font in your design. Can you add custom fonts to Figma?

PRO TIP: While Figma does support custom fonts, there are some things to be aware of before using them in your designs. First, custom fonts may not render correctly on all devices and browsers, so be sure to test your design on as many devices as possible before sharing it with others. Second, custom fonts can impact the performance of your design, so use them sparingly and only when absolutely necessary.

Yes, you can add custom fonts to Figma! To do so, simply click on the “Text” layer in the left sidebar and then click on the “Aa” icon in the top toolbar.

From here, you will see a dropdown menu of all the available fonts. At the bottom of this menu, there is an “Add fonts” link. Clicking on this will allow you to upload your own fonts from your computer.

Once you have added your custom font, it will be available in the dropdown menu for you to use in your design!
