Can You Add Links on Figma?

Last updated on November 30, 2022 @ 12:42 pm

Figma is a vector graphics editor and prototyping tool. It is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. One of the things that make Figma stand out is its ease of use and collaboration features.

Figma does not have a direct way to add links to prototypes. However, there are two ways to work around this:

Method 1: With Figma’s built-in hotspot feature, you can create clickable areas in your design that link to other pages or screens. To do this, select the frame or element you want to make clickable, then go to the “Interactions” panel on the right-hand side. Under the “On Click” section, select “Go To Frame” from the drop-down menu and choose the frame you want to link to.

Method 2: If you want more control over how your links look and behave, you can use the “Link” feature in Figma’s comments. To do this, select the frame or element you want to add a link to, then click the “Add Comment” button in the top-right corner of the screen.

In the comment box that appears, type “link:” followed by the URL you want to link to. For example, if you wanted to link to Google, you would type “link:www.google.com”.

PRO TIP: Figma is a great tool for design, but you can not add links to your designs. This means that if you want to share your design with someone, they will not be able to click on any of the elements in your design.
