Can You Do Anchor Links in Figma?

Anchor links, also known as bookmark links or jump links, are links that allow you to link to a specific part of a page. They are commonly used to provide a quick way to navigate to specific sections of a long page.

Figma does not currently support anchor links, but there are a few workarounds that can be used to achieve the same result. One workaround is to use the Figma Link tool to create a link to the section of the page you want to link to.

Then, use the HTML tag to create the anchor link.

Another workaround is to use an tag with a URL fragment identifier. This will take the user to the top of the page but will scroll the page down to the section you have identified. To do this, first create a link using the Figma Link tool.

Then, add a “#” symbol followed by the name of the section you want to link to. For example, if you want to link to a section called “About”, you would use a URL fragment identifier of “#about”.

PRO TIP: Figma does not currently support anchor links. This means that if you click on a link in a Figma file, it will open in the same window instead of opening in a new window or tab. This can be frustrating for users who are used to anchor links opening in new tabs.
