How Do I Disable WooCommerce Caching?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 5:24 am

WooCommerce is a powerful ecommerce tool that helps online businesses succeed. A key feature of WooCommerce is its caching system, which speeds up page loading times and makes the shopping experience more efficient.

However, there are times when you may need to disable WooCommerce caching, such as when you are making changes to your site or testing new features. In this article, we will show you how to disable WooCommerce caching.

WooCommerce caching can be disabled in two ways:

  • Manually disabling the cache
  • Using a plugin

Manually Disabling the Cache

The first method is to disable the cache manually. This can be done by adding a line of code to your wp-config.php file. You will need to access your site via FTP or SFTP and edit the wp-config.php file located in the root directory of your WordPress installation.

Once you have opened the wp-config.php file, you will need to add the following line of code:

define(‘WP_CACHE’, false);

You can add this line of code anywhere in the file, but we recommend adding it towards the top so that it is easy to find.

Using a Plugin

If you don’t feel comfortable editing your wp-config.php file or don’t have access to it, then you can use a plugin to disable WooCommerce caching.

  1. W3 Total Cache
    • W3 Total Cache is a popular caching plugin that can be used to speed up your WordPress site.
      • To disable WooCommerce caching with W3 Total Cache, you will need to do the following:
      • 1) Log into your WordPress site.

        2) Go to Settings > W3 Total Cache > General Settings.

        3) Under the General Settings, look for the Cache Method. There are three options here, which are Disk Enhanced, Memcached and Redis.. Choose whichever one you are using.

        4) Once you have selected your cache method, click on Save all settings.

        5) That’s it! You have successfully disabled WooCommerce caching with W3 Total Cache.

  2. WP Rocket
