How do I download an image from Linode?

There are a few ways to download images from Linode:

1. Use the Linode Command Line Interface (CLI).

2. The Linode CLI allows you to download images and other files from your account.

3. To use the Linode CLI, you will need to be logged in to your Linode account and have the Linode command available on your command line.

4. To access the Linode CLI, type the following command:

  • Linode-cli

5. To download an image, use the following command:

  • Linode-cli download

6. For example, to download the ubuntu-14.04-server-amd64.iso image from your account, you would use the following command:

PRO TIP: When downloading an image from Linode, be sure to select the correct image type for your needs. Images are typically available in either raw or qcow2 format. Be sure to download the correct version for your needs.
  • Linode-cli download ubuntu-14.iso

7. Use the Linode Image Management Portal.

8. The Linode Image Management Portal (LIMP) allows you to manage your images and files more easily.

9. To access the Linode Image Management Portal, type the following command:

  • Linode-images
  • Linode-images download
  • Linode-images download ubuntu-14.iso.
