If you want to remove the white background from an image in Illustrator, there is one method that you can use. That is to use the Image Trace tool.

To get started, first, open your image in Illustrator.

To remove the white background from your image, click on the drop-down arrow beside the “Image Trace” button at the top menu and select “High Fidelity Photo” from the options.

NOTE: The process may take a while depending on the quality of your image and the specifications of your machine.

Next is to click on the “Expand” button that will appear in your top menu.

NOTE: This will convert your image into paths.

Once done, select the “Quick Selection Tool” from the left toolbar.

Once the Quick Selection Tool is selected, this will make all the paths in your image active. To deselect these, click on the outside of the image. From there, click on the white background of your image to select it.

Finally, press the “Delete” key on your keyboard to remove the white background. And that’s it!

PRO TIP: If you are attempting to remove the white background from an image in Illustrator, be aware that this process can be complex and time-consuming. There are a number of steps involved, and if not done correctly, you may end up with an image that has a distorted or unwanted appearance.
