How Do You Create a Variable in Figma?

There are two ways to create a variable in Figma. The first is to use the “Create Variable” button in the left sidebar.

The second is to select one or more objects on the canvas, then click the “Create Variable” button in the Inspector in the right sidebar.

When you create a variable, you can give it a name and specify its type. There are three types of variables: colors, fonts, and numbers.

PRO TIP: When creating a variable in Figma, be sure to use the correct syntax. Otherwise, your variable may not work as intended.

To edit a variable, simply click on it in the left sidebar. This will open the “Edit Variable” dialog, where you can change the name and type of the variable.

You can also delete a variable by clicking the “Delete” button in this dialog.
