Making a Drop Shadow Vector in Illustrator

Making a drop shadow in Illustrator is not as difficult as one might think. The steps are:

1. Choose the object you want to shadow.

In this example, we will be using a text box.

2. Select the Text tool (T) and click on the object you want to shadow.

3. In the Properties bar, click on the Appearance tab.

4. In the Drop Shadow section, choose the Shadow Type option and select the Drop Shadow radio button.

5. In the Distance field, type in the desired height of the drop shadow.

In this example, we will be setting the shadow to be at a height of 2 pixels.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that creating a drop shadow vector in Illustrator can be complex and time-consuming. If you are not familiar with the software, we recommend seeking help from a professional.

6. Click on the OK button to apply the drop shadow.

7. You can now preview your shadow by clicking on the Preview button in the Properties bar.

8. If you want to change any of the settings for the drop shadow, you can do so by clicking on the Shadow Options button and adjusting the values as needed.
