How Do You Write Vertical Text in Figma?

When it comes to design, there are a few things you can do in Figma that are considered “best practices.” One of those is to use vertical text when you can.

Vertical text is simply text that is aligned vertically instead of horizontally. It’s a common way to format text in East Asian countries, and it can also be used for other purposes, like creating a more unique look for your design.

There are a few different ways to create vertical text in Figma. The first is to use the Text tool and then rotate the text box. This will give you vertical text, but it won’t be very easy to read.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, you could end up with vertical text that is difficult to read. Make sure to use a font that is easy to read, and be aware of the potential for letters to get jumbled together.

The second way is to use the Line tool to draw a line down the center of your text box. Then, use the Text tool to type your text on either side of the line. This method is a bit more time-consuming, but it will result in better-looking vertical text.

The third way is to use a plugin like Vertical Text or Vertical Type. These plugins will automatically format your text so that it’s easy to read and looks great.

No matter which method you choose, remember to keep your audience in mind. If you’re creating vertical text for an East Asian audience, make sure that the font you’re using supports their language. And if you’re creating vertical text for another purpose, make sure that it’s easy to read and understand.
