Where Is the Path Option in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 11:12 am

Paths are a fundamental part of Photoshop’s design, yet their location is not always obvious. The Paths option is located in the bottom right of the Layers panel, next to the Adjustment and Effects layers. It is represented by a small icon that looks like a path with a circle around it.

To create a path, you first need to select the Pen tool from the Tools panel. Then, click on the starting point of your path and drag the mouse to create the shape you want. When you release the mouse button, Photoshop will automatically create a path.

If you want to edit an existing path, simply click on the Paths option in the Layers panel and then select the path you want to edit. Photoshop will then allow you to use the Pen tool to edit the shape of your path.

Once you’re happy with your path, you can use it to create a selection by choosing the “Select” option from the Paths menu. This will bring up a dialog box where you can choose how you want your selection to be created. You can also use paths to create masks or even just as a way to draw shapes in Photoshop.

Paths are a powerful tool that every Photoshop user should learn how to use. With a little practice, you’ll be able to create any kind of shape or selection you need. So don’t be afraid to experiment and have fun with them!

PRO TIP: If you are looking for the Path option in Photoshop, you will not find it. The Path option was removed in Photoshop CC 2015.
