Can I Change My Shopify Domain Name?

This can be useful if you want to change the focus of your store, or if you want to claim a new domain name that better represents your brand. Here’s how to do it:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Domains.

2. Under Domain names, click the domain that you want to change.

3. In the Domain Details section, click Change name servers.

4. Click Confirm.

5. Click the DNS tab.

6. In the Custom records section, click Add custom record.

7. In the Record Type drop-down menu, choose CNAME (Alias).

8. In the Hostname field, enter www.

9. In the Target field, enter your new domain name (without the www).

10. Click Save.

11. It can take up to 72 hours for the changes to take effect.
