Can You Copy and Paste in Figma?

If you’ve ever used a word processor, you know that you can copy and paste text from one document to another. The same is true for Figma.

You can copy and paste text within a Figma document, or from one Figma document to another. And, like most word processors, Figma supports styled text. So, if you’ve styled your text in one document, you can copy and paste it into another document and the styling will come along for the ride.

To copy and paste text in Figma, simply select the text you want to copy, then press Ctrl+C (Windows) or Cmd+C (macOS). Next, open the destination document and press Ctrl+V (Windows) or Cmd+V (macOS) to paste the text. That’s all there is to it!

If you want to copy and paste styled text, the process is just as easy. First, select the styled text you want to copy. Then press Ctrl+C (Windows) or Cmd+C (macOS).

Next, open the destination document and press Ctrl+Shift+V (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+V (macOS) to paste the styled text.

So there you have it! Whether you want to copy and paste plain text or styled text, Figma makes it easy. Give it a try next time you need to move some text from one place to another.

PRO TIP: When copying and pasting in Figma, be aware that certain object types may not be supported. This includes groups, instances, and certain types of gradients. Additionally, some objects may not be accurately represented when copied and pasted between different files.

In conclusion, yes – you can copy and paste within Figma documents, as well as between Figma documents! And not only that – but if you need to move styled text around, Figma has got you covered there too.
