How Do I Change From Horizontal to Vertical in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 4:12 pm

When you first open Photoshop, the default workspace is set to a horizontal orientation. This means that the toolbars and menus are arranged along the top and sides of the window.

While this orientation is fine for many tasks, there may be times when you want to switch to a vertical workspace. This can be helpful when working with long documents or when using certain tools that are easier to access in a vertical layout. Here’s how to change from horizontal to vertical in Photoshop:

1.Open Photoshop and click on the “Window” menu.

2.Click on “Workspace.”

3.Select “Vertical Workspace.”

4.You will see the toolbars and menus rearrange themselves in a vertical orientation.

5.To return to the horizontal workspace, simply repeat steps 1-4 and select “Horizontal Workspace” instead.

Changing from horizontal to vertical in Photoshop is easy to do and can be helpful in certain situations. Be sure to experiment with both orientations to see which one works better for you and your workflow.

PRO TIP: When you are working in Photoshop, you may want to change the orientation of your image from horizontal to vertical. To do this, you will need to use the Crop tool. First, select the Crop tool from the Tools palette. Then, click on the top left corner of your image and drag down to the bottom right corner. This will create a cropping rectangle. Next, click on the Options button in the Crop tool options bar and select Flip Vertically from the drop-down menu. Finally, click on the Commit button in the options bar to complete the process.
