How do I install free SSL on HostGator?

SSL encryption is a security feature that helps protect your online traffic from eavesdropping. SSL certificates are required for many online services, including HostGator.

To install free SSL on HostGator, follow these steps:

1. Login to your HostGator account.

2. Click on the Accounts link in the top menu bar.

3. Click on the Security section.

4. Click on the Verify SSL Certificate link.

5. Click on the Install Certificate button.

6. Select the certificate you want to install.

7. Enter the password for the certificate.

8. Click on the OK button.

9. Click on the Close button.

10. Click on the Hosting tab.

11. Click on the SSL Certificate section.

12. Click on the Enable SSL button.

13. Click on the Home tab.

14. Click on the Site Contents link.

15. Click on the Sites link.

16. Click on the your website name.

17. Click on the SSL Certificate link.

18. Click on the Copy button.

19. Click on the Paste button.

20. Click on the Google Analytics link.

21. Click on the Privacy & Security link.

22. Click on the Enable Analytics for this Website button.

23. Click on the Site Properties link.

24. Click on the Security tab.

25. Click on the Verify SSL Certificate button.

26. Click on the Traffic Sources tab.

27. Click on the Add New Traffic Source button.

28. Enter the website address of the website you want to add traffic to.

29. Click on the Add Traffic Source button.

30. Click on the Remove SSL Certificate button.

PRO TIP: If you are installing an SSL certificate on a HostGator account, please be aware that HostGator does not support installation of free SSL certificates. Any attempt to install a free SSL certificate on a HostGator account will result in an error message and the account will be suspended.
