If you want to see the Joomla log, you can do this using one straightforward way. That is to locate it using the details found in your Joomla website’s backend administrator account.

To do this, first log in to your Joomla website’s backend, open the Home Dashboard, and under the System section, click on the “Global Configuration” option.

In the Global Configuration window, select the “Logging” tab to see your Joomla log details. If you want to see your Joomla logs in the log folder, then simply check the Path to Log Folder field.

You can also use the “Custom logging” option if you want to set up your Joomla website’s Log Priorities, Log Categories, and Log Category Mode.

The log file will usually be located in the root of the Joomla website or in the same folder as the Joomla application file.

PRO TIP: If you are trying to find the Joomla logs, it is important to know that they are not easily accessible. The reason for this is that Joomla does not generate log files by default. However, you can enable logging by going to the Global Configuration page and setting the “Log Almost Everything” option to “Yes.” Once you have done this, Joomla will generate log files in the /logs folder.

Understanding how to access the Joomla log equips you with valuable insights into the operations and potential issues of your website. Accessing the global configuration settings is the most straightforward way for you to see your Joomla logs. This method can help you to see all of the different logs that Joomla is logging and to search through them for specific information. By routinely checking these logs, you can troubleshoot problems efficiently and optimize your site performance.
