If you’re anything like me, you’re always hitting the Photoshop cache pretty hard.

And, if you’re anything like me, you’re always wondering what happens if you purge the cache in Photoshop.

Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s not as scary as it seems.

PRO TIP: If you purge cache in Photoshop, it will delete all cached data and start fresh. This could cause slowdowns or glitches in your workflow.

When you purge the cache in Photoshop, all of the temporary data that Photoshop has been storing is cleared out. This includes things like history states, undo information, and image thumbnails.

The good news is that this doesn’t affect your actual images or project files in any way.

So, if you’re running low on memory or having performance issues, purging the cache can help free up some resources. Just be aware that you’ll lose your history states and undo information in the process.
