How Do I Move an Object in Photoshop After Selection?

When you have made a selection in Photoshop, there are several ways that you can move the selected object. The first way is to use the Move Tool, which is located in the Toolbox.

To use the Move Tool, simply click on the object that you want to move and then drag it to the desired location. You can also use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move the selected object.

Another way to move a selected object is to use the Free Transform command. To use this command, go to Edit > Free Transform or press Command+T (Mac) / Control+T (Windows).

PRO TIP: If you are moving an object in Photoshop after selection, be sure to use the Move Tool (shortcut: V). If you use another tool, the selection may be lost.

This will bring up a bounding box around the object. You can then click and drag the object to the desired location. You can also use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move the object.

If you want to be more precise when moving a selected object, you can use the Transform command. To use this command, go to Edit > Transform > Scale or Edit > Transform > Rotate. You can then click and drag one of the handles on the bounding box to scale or rotate the object.

No matter which method you use to move a selected object, you can always use the Undo command (Command+Z / Control+Z) to undo your last action.
