How Do You Do an Animated Dropdown Figma?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 12:26 am

Figma is a vector drawing and animation software that’s becoming increasingly popular for its user-friendly interface and wide range of features. One of Figma’s most useful features is the ability to create animated dropdown menus. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do just that:

1. In Figma, create a new frame and add a rectangle to it. This will be the background for your dropdown menu.

2. Next, add a text layer on top of the rectangle. This will be the title of your dropdown menu.

3. Now, add a new frame below the first one. This will be the content of your dropdown menu.

4. In the new frame, add whatever content you want in your dropdown menu. For this example, we’ll just add some dummy text.

5. Now select both frames and go to the ‘Animation’ tab in the top toolbar.

6. In the ‘Animation’ tab, select ‘Create Animation’.

7. A popup window will appear. In this window, select ‘Auto-animate’, then click ‘Create Animation’.

8. Your dropdown menu is now animated! To preview it, simply click the ‘Play’ button in the top toolbar.
